Leather Sofas

Choosing a sofa is an important decision as it plays a significant role in the comfort and aesthetics of your living space. Leather can be a good choice primarily because it is easier to clean than other fabrics. It also absorbs less smells than fabric so it may be a good choice for children or pets. Typically, you clean leather with soap and water and use a conditioner on a regular basis.

At the end of the day your satisfaction with your sofa will come down to comfort. Make sure you understand the seat height and seat depth. The most comfortable sofas have some depth so take that into consideration when choosing a sofa for your space.  If you have a small space, make sure your sofa is deep enough to be comfortable.

As far as style, we prefer a track arm sofa with wide arms because they are more comfortable and have a more modern feel. However, we also like the French deco, curvy arms sofas that are popular now.  If you go with a more traditional sofa, choose one that sits closer to the ground and has a plinth base to avoid dust and pet hair gathering under your sofa. Also choose more neutral colors for your leather.  If the leather is too dark, it will look more commercial like a law firm rather than a cozy living space.

The type of leather you choose matters as well. We recommend a full aniline or semi-aniline leather.  Bonded leather is basically plastic and will deteriorate faster. And for the foundation, we always recommend a wood frame for your sofa.
