Comment on Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent’s kitchen island

What is not to love about this marble kitchen island! It adds such interest to the space! Though it is a small island, it packs a big design punch!  The movement, the colors, and the edge profiles on the island all perfectly juxtapose tradition with the mid-century light fixture. In this small space, the countertops have a lot of movement so using just this one material on all the surfaces gives it a very cohesive feel. It also plays well with other elements in this room. The beautiful herringbone pattern of the wood floor with its soft neutral tone gives it such a cozy feel pared with the island. It feels luxurious without feeling stuffy.
