Overrated colors that could date your home

What’s dated can vary by region and personal preference, but here are some colors that have fallen out of favor in recent years and may make your home look tired.

Gray is passé all the way!  Some of us are glad gray is making its way out of town.

Having an all-white, bright kitchen and bath are losing popularity. Instead, gravitate toward warm whites, creams and brown which are more on trend.

Tuscan or Mediterranean colors such as earthy reds, yellows, and oranges were trendy in the 2000s for Mediterranean-style decor but have since gone out of fashion.

Animal prints and other timeless patterns are always in style if you use updated colors and textures.

Keep in mind that design trends change, and what’s considered outdated today may come back into style in the future. If you want your home to have a timeless look, consider using neutral colors and materials as a base. Then you can add trendy colors and accents with decor and accessories that are easier to change as trends evolve.
