We have all been there – exhausted but feeling pressure to undecorate after Christmas and get ready for New Year’s Eve and the remaining winter. Here are my tips to make the transition from holiday to winter décor work better without losing the magic.
In your winter décor, go for neutrals with pops of your favorite holiday colors. Fabrics should feel rich and sumptuous and can have beautiful embroidery or beaded embellishments to give it a holiday as well as winter feel.
Run with your personal aesthetic. If you love glam, well glam it up darling! If you prefer natural materials, utilize the holidays in nature – i.e. mistletoe, fresh pine clippings or pine cones. If you’re celebrating in a coastal area, consider shell garland or foundation items intertwined with small string lights. This will be sure to make your home feel purposefully decorated for the holidays but not scream snowmen and Santas.
